Hello dear readers, have you seen the new moodboard over at

I knew right away I wanted to do something about the ocean....

'Sunset'

I finally cracked open my new pack of 7 Dots Studio 'Writer's Block' papers.....
and I went out and bought some round glass stones at Michael's, they've
got lots of different colors and I love how they look on a page.
I love the pale earthy colors of this month's challenge.

Here is this months moodboard:

Here are a few close ups:

After I created my background I glued down some pieces of my boy's old jeans
and some torn up cotton lace, and then I layered on some flowers, a few seashells,
and some Prima Art Stones.

I hope I have inspired you a little, see you next month!

'Nine' a canvas for 13arts

Warm greetings to my crafty friends:) I have a canvas to share that I created
for 13arts featuring their lovely 'Vivid Vintage' paints in creamy coffee colors.

'Nine'

Aida has created some really amazing paints called 'Vivid Vintage', a collection
of shimmery paints in beautiful colors.

I used some of these paints in 'Espresso' on the clock chipboard piece and also
on the honeycomb chipboard. I also used some of the paints on the background too,
just mixed with a little water. I added lots of flowers, some torn up lace, and some butterflies that I love so much from the small paper pad from the 'His & Hers' collection.

You can find 13 arts paints at their online store here,
and check out the 13 arts blog here, there are some projects created
with these paints and also two video tutorials to spark your imagination:)

After I had created my canvas I thought the colors needed an extra little something
and I decided to add some pearl orange mist to brighten up my composition.

Here are a few details:

'Beautiful'

Hello darlings, I hope you are all finding time to crafty this weekend....
It's been a cold, wet and icy grey day where I live which is perfect weather
to grab a big old cup of joe and play around with what has to be one
of my all time favourite kits from Scraps of Elegance...the
'Watercolor Wishes' kit.

'Beautiful'

More 49 & Market papers and flowers this time in a beautiful pale purpley blue, which I thought
would be a great backdrop for a pretty vintage photograph. I used some watercolors in
my background and then just layered up some beautiful amber colored flowers, the Prima brass
time piece and swan, ( love these little birds) and the 'Beautiful' chipboard piece.

You can check out our online store here, to become a subscriber
(the best option as these kits sell out super quick!)
and you can find lots of inspiration on our blog here.

Here are a few close ups:

I love to emboss chipboard, especially with metallic looking embossing powders, it just
totally transforms them (and I love watching the powders melt). Here I embossed this
title with aged gold embossing powders to make it look ancient and time worn.

I used the 49 & Market papers and flowers from the floral add on, and from the main kit
and the elements add on I used the smooth glass stones, the 'Beautiful' chipboard piece,
the Prima swan and brass clock piece, and then I also added some Prima pearls
from my stash.

Thanks for looking, can't wait to receive my next kit,
Hugs, Lisa xo

Tag set tutorial for Scraps of Elegance

Happy monday girls....I had a creative burst this past weekend and I was so
happy to just be able to unwind and spend some time getting crafty :)
The February kit called 'Watercolor Wishes' continues to inspire me,
this time I created a set of shabby tags and took some photos along the way.

'Always, Discover'

I started with the cardboard pieces from the 49 & Market flower packs, and then cut out some of the 49 & Market papers to glue on the top. I added some of the Lindy's Magical Shaker powder mixed with water, a few pieces of 2 Crafty Chipboard, some white lace, and some 49 & Market flowers from the floral add on.

Here is the February kit:

To purchase our kits please visit the online store here.

I prepared a short tutorial on my process for you. I did these tags at night, so the light's not
great, and my table is soooo messy (I'll just confess right now my craft table is a little chaotic at times), but I just thought I'd share the simple steps to create some shabby tags like these.

1. I cut the paper packaging from the flowers that were in the floral add on and then cut out some paper from the kit to match. I also fussy cut some birds and flowers from the 49 & Market kit papers.

2. I glued the papers down and cut off the corners. I also punched a hole in each tag for the ribbons.
Then I covered both tags in a coat of clear gesso, and after that dried I applied some heavy white gesso a bit messily. I like to apply the gesso unevenly and then heat it with my heat gun on high; the gesso bubbles and cracks and I think it makes some interesting patterns for later on when you apply the inks or watercolors.

3. The next step is to add some color to your background. I used the pretty Lindy's Magical Shaker that came in the kit called 'Oom Pah Pah Pink'. I just mixed it wth a little water. Then I added some stamping on top.

4. Now it's time to add your embellishments. I glued down some pieces of white lace that I had cut up, and then layered on the papers I had fussy cut, some chipboards that I painted white, and some flowers.

5. I went back in with some watercolors to add some more colors to tie it all together. Then I brushed everything lightly with some gesso to give the tags a really shabby look. Once it was all dry, I tied some twine on each tag, and we're done!

Here are some details:

I hope you enjoyed my tutorial and I hope it inspires you to create something
shabby too!

Hugs, Lisa xo

'Forever' a new layout for Scraps of Elegance

Hello girls! I wanted to share my very first layout created with the BEAUTIFUL February
kit from Scraps of Elegance called 'Watercolor Wishes'.

Oh I just can't tell you how much I loved this month's kit, the kind of kit where you're unwrapping everything and just so excited to get creating! The 49 & Market papers are just gorgeous with really lovely color combos, nice and thick too and can hold up to lots of mediums. And the floral add on this month was perfectly matched, with a really cool 49 & Market vine of flowers that I bent into a circle here on this page. I fussy cut some of the birds and flowers and tucked those in too. The kit also came with some really pretty colored round stones that added an unusual touch. I also used a little wooden title from our last kit. And again using lots of watercolors in my background, love how this turned out.

Here is February's kit:

To find out how to purchase our kits, please go here, and
don't forget to visit our blog here we have lots of designers on both
teams working magic with our kits and even posting tutorials too :)

Here are a few close ups:

So in love with these beautiful Prima brass birds, I also added some
Prima glass beads.

See you soon, more to come with this lovely kit,
