this moment

Hello, hello!
Although fall has barely begun where I live, I couldn't resist creating a wintery layout when I received the new Pion Design paper collection called 'Glistening Season'.
Such beautifully romantic winter scenes.

'this moment'

I combined the papers 'Scripture II' and 'By the River' for my base,
and then used pieces of 'Tags' and 'Glistening Season I' under my photo.

Here is the new collection:

I cut out some of the sweet blue hearts from one of the tags.

I also added a piece of 2 Crafty Chipboard called 'Clock Faces'.

See you soon,

Escape

Hello girls, happy Monday! (is there such a thing?)
I have been playing with my October kit from Scraps of Elegance and
created another layout with the gorgeous Prima papers...

'escape'

I am head over heels in love with these Prima 'Royal Menagerie' papers, they are so bright and colorful, with just a hint of vintage, and I love how they look like an old peeling wall...I just went with that feeling and used a lot of Lindy's Stamp Gang mists and lots of textures.

Here is our October kit:

To find out where to buy our kits please visit the store here.
To see all the wonderful design team work and great video tutorials (I LOVE those)
please go here.

I also used some 2 Crafty Chipboard pieces,
'Word Disk Set - Travel' and 'Circle Lace Frame' that I painted white.

Thanks for the visit and
happy crafting!

Words & Painterly 1 Year Anniversary!

Hello friends, it's the middle of the month and time for some color inspiration over at
Words & Painterly. The blog has a brand new look and also some brand new team members!
When I first saw this month's color palette of fuchsia and gold
I thought of India! a place that I have always wanted to visit...

Here is this month's colors...

Aren't they beautiful? To read about the new challenge please visit the blog here.
As a special treat this month to celebrate the Words & Painterly blog 1 year anniversary,
Marie has coordinated each of the designers to post a tutorial on how they made their project.
So check back often this month and don't miss out on going behind the scenes :)
We also have a fantastic Guest Designer, Louise Nelson, and some great prizes to be won!

Here are a few details:

I have used two beautiful pieces of 2 Crafty Chipboard on this project,
'Moroccan Panel' and 'Floral Branch'.

I wish I was practiced enough to film a video tutorial, but I'm not quite there yet...
So I have prepared a step by step of how I created this layout.

Step 1. I started to prepare my chipboard pieces by covering them with a light coat of white gesso,  rubbing them with some Inka Gold paint in shimmery pink, then I embossed them very lightly and unevenly in glittery gold embossing powder.

Step 2. I prepared my paper with a coat of clear gesso so the inks don't seep into the paper and dried it. Then I started with my mists in pink and gold just randomly applying them with a paintbrush and adding water.

Step 3. I wanted the colors to be really vibrant, so I also used my gelatos to build up some bright color on my background. I just add the gelato, a few drops of water and spread around the page with my fingers.

Step 4. I added some stamping randomly around my page.

Step 5. I created some texture using heavy white gesso and a stencil, let it dry.

Step 6. I glued down my photo, and all of my embellishments, flowers, my chipboard, and some gold sequins. After this was all in place, I went back in with my mists to really intensify the colors,
And that's it!

I hope you enjoyed my (simple) tutorial, and I would love to see you join in this month
and celebrate with us!
Until next time,
Lisa xo

Ponte Vedra

Hello sweet crafty friends...I hope you are all well :)
Dropping in to share my first layout with the brand new Scraps of Elegance
kit for October called 'Tiffany's Style' named after our very own designer Tiffany Solario.

'Ponte Vedra'

This is Liam after asking me to 'bury' him on the beach in sand this summer...
(we only got waist high) lol.
The new Prima collection 'Royal Menagerie' is so, so beautiful, and this month's kit has it all!
The papers, the flowers, a pretty stamp, even the stencil!
As soon as I saw the Prima seashell resins, I knew I wanted to scrap a beach photo.
Here is this month's kit...

To find out where to buy our kits please go here.

Here are a few details...

I layered on a lot of heavy gesso, pieces of the small matching paper pad,
stamping and the gorgeous 'Royal Menagerie' flowers.

I'd like to enter my layout on a wonderful challenge blog I found called 'Paper Maraka'.
Here is the sketch I used:

Please find the Sketch No. 2  here.

I used the light green Lindy's Stamp Gang embossing powder on some large 2 Crafty Chipboard letters, and then embossed again with some chunky gold embossing powders that also came with the kit. Later on I realized that it actually looks like sand on my letters which fits the whole theme perfectly!

I also used some 'Turkish Panel' 2 Crafty Chipboard that I painted white
and sprinkled on a few seashells.

Thanks for looking, see you soon :)

Tags!

Hi everyone! I am back today to share another project made with the Scraps of Elegance
'Sweet September' kit. Continuing my journey to create things other than layouts,
I made two tags with a fall theme.

These two large tags came with the kit and I love how they turned out!
This is the kit for September...

To find out how to purchase our kits, please go here...
To join in our face book group please go here...
To visit the blog for loads of inspiration (and videos!) please go here...

I would like to enter my project in the challenge No. 103 'Autumn Inspiration'
on the blog Kiev Skrapclub, please find the challenge here.

I started by glueing the tags with some old book paper, covered them in gesso, used a mask with very heavy white gesso to get some good textures, and then colored them with my watercolor paints.

I added some stamping, and the gorgeous Graphic 45 metal keyholes that came with the kit,
added some flowers from this month's Scraps of Darkness kit, and a few fall leaves...
and voila! done!

I am so loving all the autumn themed projects I am seeing lately, aren't you?
All the oranges, browns, yellows and reds make me happy...fall is coming!
I love the crisp cool air in the morning...
sweet relief from the sweltering heat of a Southern summer....

Thanks for visiting!
Hugs, Lisa xo

'girl in blue'

Hello girls :)...I'm dropping in today to share a layout I created for 2 Crafty Chipboard.

'girl in blue'

I found this beautiful photo on Pinterest and loved the blue colors with the touches of gold around the edges. This inspired me to choose some gorgeous 2 Crafty Chipboard frames and alter them by embossing them first in glittery black embossing powder, and then again lightly in gold.

Here are a few close ups...

I used the following 2 Crafty Chipboard pieces...
