'Tsarinas'...and a Giveaway!

Hello crafty girls....I hope everyone is well :)
I am dropping in to share my second layout made with the gorgeous

'Tsarinas'

The BoBunny collection 'Juliet' was perfect for my vintage photos of the beautiful Romanov princesses. (If you don't know their tragic story, read about them here). I did a lot of masking in the background, used the Prima stamps that came with the kit, and then built up some layers with the 'Juliet' papers, pink flowers and some blue and pink mists.

Here are some close ups...

I colored one of the super gorgeous large white paper Marion Smith flowers from the kit
with blue ink to match my color palette. I also added some pieces of white lace and a
2Crafty chipboard piece called 'Corner Marisa' that I painted white.

I also finally used some of my new 13 arts products..pink 'sand' and some silver mica flakes,
I love them! They give a really pretty shimmery look and lots of texture.

Here is the July Scraps of Elegance kit 'Patricia's Memoirs'...

'24'... a new layout for 2Crafty!

Hello girls....happy Friday!
Well today is my very first blog post over at 2 Crafty....you can see it here.
I had so much fun working with the lovely chippies they sent me.
Chipboard is such a great addition to any design, it can totally add to the mood of
your project and there are so many ways to use it.
This is my first project that I made using some delicate swirly pieces.

'24'

I find myself just captivated by these really old daguerreotype photographs that I find on Pinterest. Mostly I choose the ones of girls or women, I love their expressions and to me their clothes are so beautiful. Always wonder who they were and what their stories are.
I just love the rich dark brown sepia colors of these old photographs, and I am guessing that some of the chemicals of these really old photos start to fade and that's why there is some spots of blue and orange. The vibrant colors on this one inspired me so much.

I used some 'Vintage Photo' brown ink on my chipboard pieces.

I sprinkled on some shimmery copper Mica flakes that came in one of my Scraps of Elegance kits.

I used the following pieces:

This month's kit is called 'Patricia's Memoirs' named after our designer Patricia Besson.

I was overwhelmed by what came out of this months box.
So many lovely things, gorgeous Prima flowers, beautiful shabby papers,
brads, stamps, lace....feathers!
It's a real dream to design for this club.

Here are a few close ups....

This BoBunny 'Juliet' collection is so pretty...I started with the paper 'Verona' and then layered some pieces of the paper 'Full House' under my photo together with some vintage book pages.

I used a couple pieces of 2 Crafty chipboard, one is a piece of the 'Moroccan Panel'
and the other was this really unusual piece called 'Skeleton Trees' that I covered in brown ink.
I also added some pink mist from Lindy's Stamp Gang called 'Plumeria Pink'.

Hello lovelies!
So this month has been a whirlwind for me, the days just flying by at break neck speed, too much work, and a wonderful week long holiday......as a result I couldn't get my usual layout completed for the July challenge at Words & Painterly, and the ever so gracious Marie let me take a small reprieve this month.
But I still want to share with you the wonderful light and summery color palette and
also highlight all of the beautiful work done by our team.

'Happy' a new layout for Pion Design

Hello girls...
I love creating something soft and sweet using Pion Papers.
Here I combined two collections, Vintage Wedding and Alma's Sewing Room.

'happy'

I began with a vintage photo of my mum by the seaside as my inspiration behind this one.
I started with the paper 'Blue Room' and then did lots of masking with a Prima doily mask.
Then I added some pieces of an old book, a few Pion tags, some lace and some pieces
of Pion Papers that I cut out with a lacy punch.

Here are the Pion collections that I worked with...

There are a few online stores in the US that carry Pion Design papers,
one is The Flying Unicorn, and the other is The Scrapbook Diaries.
To find an international store near you that stocks Pion Papers please go here.
To visit the Pion Design blog please go here.

Here are some close ups....

The color 'Whale Watch Blue' from Lindy's Stamp Gang went perfectly with these papers.
I would like to enter my page into a challenge I found on the beautiful blog called Paper Fun.
The task is to use old book papers and text on your project.
For more information on this challenge please visit their blog here.

I love scrapping old family photos and I have quite a few of these of my mum and her parents on holiday. They look so happy and carefree. Here are a few photos of the town called Bridlington in East Yorkshire where my mum told me her parents used to take her and her brother every summe.r

See you soon,

A new layout and a new team!

Hello girls...I'm back from the beach...what a lovely time we had...

'together'

I was so excited to be offered the chance to be on this great team! As you all know I love working with chipboard, and 2Crafty designs are just gorgeous! I am really looking forward to playing with all the beautiful pieces they sent me in the next months.
Hopefully I can share some of my tips and tricks in working with chipboard.

Here are a few close ups...

For this layout I chose to work with the dramatic 2Crafty floral piece called 'Viney Page Frame '.
I cut out a large strand and glued it down the left hand side of my page. Then I randomly coated it with heavy gesso and then colored it with my mists.
I also used some pieces of  'Circle Lace Panel'.

How pretty is this paper 'Spring Garden 02' by Craft & You that came in the June
kit from Scraps of Elegance? I also used the pink and yellow Prima flowers, the cute Prima light bulb and the lavender Prills to create a super shabby look.

I found a great sketch on the challenge blog called Scrap Club Artugolok.

Here is the sketch...

For more info on the challenge, please go here.

Here is the kit from June...

Each of these kits are better than the last...
