'Wonderful Life'

How are my all my crafty ladies?
It's Saturday night and I'm here to share my next layout I created
with the June Scraps of Elegance kit.....

'wonderful life'

I had so much fun creating this one and I love how it turned out. As soon as I saw this pretty peach paper called 'Spring Garden 03' by Craft & You, I knew what I wanted to do. My inspiration came from this vintage beach photo I found on Pinterest.

Here is the kit from June...

Please visit the Scraps of Elegance blog here to see how the other girls were inspired.

Here are a few close ups...

First I did a lot masking with heavy gesso and then used some of my favourite colors of Lindy's Samp Gang sprays in peach and bronze. Then I added the really cool Tim Holtz black rub ons that came in the kit, love how these look.

With this layout I would like to enter a challenge on the blog Paper Fun...

The theme for this one is 'The Perfect Vacation', well my idea of a perfect holiday is always at the beach with my boys, swimming, sunbathing and relaxing by the ocean, which I was thinking of while creating this layout. Please check out their blog here....

Once my background was done I added the pretty heart chipboard piece, and then layered on my photos, some flowers, lace, and then lastly some tiny shells that I adhered with clear gel medium.

Well, we are off to the beach ourselves tomorrow! We've been counting down the days and now it's finally here, we are going to Disneyland, and then onto the coast. It's like Christmas in July for my little boy....he is beside himself he is so excited:) so is mom :)

See you soon...

June Scraps of Elegance kit reveal

Good morning my crafty chickies...
It's time to finally show my first layout created with Scraps of Elegance kit for June!

'hello'

This kit was just absolutely filled with the most gorgeous flowers and embellies...
it's just just a pure joy to receive this box of goodies every month.
The June kit includes the new Blue Fern Studios paper collection called 'Deja Vu', beautiful Prima flowers and so much more. I loved the purple and yellow color combination of these papers so I used it for my first design.

June's kit is called 'Stephanie's Treasure' after our super talented designer, Stephanie Papin.
I know you will have already seen her stunning work,
I love how she works pure magic with her mists. Please visit her blog here.
For more info on where to purchase our kits, please visit the online store here.
And don't forget to drop by our Facebook group where you can share your work and be inspired,
you can find that group here.

Here are a few close ups...

For this layout I chose a super sweet photo of my mum when she was a girl.
She told me they always wore uniforms at school, I love the tie!

I used so much from the kit on this layout, everything just came together. I used the twine and added some cheesecloth under the pretty Prima and Petaloo flowers, and then added a bow made of the ribbon that also came with the kit. I had heard of Prills but didn't know what they were...they're gorgeous!
I love the texture that they add, so I used quite a bit of them.
Lastly, the sweet little purple gems.

I also wanted to mention that the kit add-ons are amazing! There are always beautiful packs of chipboard, co-ordinating flowers, stamps, paints, or stencils, and all so well put together.

Thanks for dropping by,
I'll be sharing more layouts that I have created with this beautiful kit soon...

'in the garden...'

Hello lovelies!
How are all my crafty girls? I am dropping in to share my latest creation with the
April kit from Scraps of Elegance.

'in the garden...'

I was absolutely in love with this paper by BoBunny called "Garden Journal' that looks like watercolor prints from an old book. I just wasn't sure how to use it without covering up the beautiful flower illustrations. I just decided to go ahead and use it as a background paper and I love how it turned out. I added some watered down gesso to soften the background and then did some masking for texture.

Here are some close ups...

I dug out an old set of water color paints for this one and just had loads of fun with blues and purples.
It seems like every other day I am finding another Russian blog that I love...well I found this one recently called 'Memuaris' and they have a lovey challenge going this month called
 'Meadow Flowers'.

For more info on this challenge and just to be amazed by all the beautiful
work to be seen on this gorgeous blog, please go here.

I used some of the Prima butterfly flowers from the kit and a few from my stash.
I wish I could say I know this sweet girl, but she is from my vintage photo collection
that I add to whenever I go to estate sales.
I loved her pose in the garden and thought it would be perfect for this paper.

So it would seem that there have been some major delays with getting the proper products shipped for our next Scraps of Elegance kit...I think I have gone into withdrawals!! lol ! But stay tuned, the Design Team has seen a sneak peek for the kit for June and like always, it looks so yummy!
