love

Hello everyone, happy weekend!
I forgot to share a lo I created recently for the Maja Design May challenge.

'love'

This challenge had a wedding theme and I found this photo of my parents wedding in
Rotherham, England. They will have been married for 49 YEARS this September which
is just an incredible feat! They are so sweet and STILL LAUGH at each others jokes, what
an inspiration they are.....love really can last a lifetime ;)

Here are a few close ups.......

I think it's safe to say that the 'Turkish Panel' is my all time favorite
Blue Fern Studios chipboard, I use it so much! Here I painted it
white and silver. I love the glass beads from 13 arts, it really gives
an amazing texture like tiny jewels.

Thanks for dropping by,
'til next time!
Love, Lisa xo

best of times

Hello girls...
Popping in to share my latest layout for Blue Fern Studios...

'best of times'

In honour of Father's Day this month I wanted to create a lo with my Dad.
I found this photo of when my parents visited my husband and I when we were living
on Miami Beach. We walked all around Bayside and took a tour of the harbour on a ferry,
it was a really fun day.

Here are a few close ups....

The new paper line called 'Ombre Dreams' is just so beautiful. Really pretty color combinations and
soft patterns in the background that echo the patterns of the chipboard. I love these blues and
oranges together so I went for a nautical theme.
You can see all the wonderful work by the BFS design team using these gorgeous papers here.

I hope you are enjoying the weekend!
Thanks so much for taking a look,

Hugs, Lisa xox

tender

Hey girls.....
In honor of Father's Day tomorrow I wanted to make a lo about my husband and what
a great Dad he is to our little boy so I created......

'tender'

Have you heard of Mixed Media Place?
I love this blog, they always have really such beautiful work.
Last night I saw they have a challenge about 'Tenderness' in their series of challenges about
emotions, so I found this adorable photo of my hubby and son. What's more tender than a
sleeping baby? :) My husband is tough, extremely competitive with a strong personality
but he is just so loving and caring when it comes to our boy. We are lucky to have him ;)

You can find Mixed Media Place here, and here is the challenge....

What are you feeling? {vol.6}

Today we meet again to talk about our feelings.

Do you know the song - 'Try A Little Tenderness'? :)
This month we talk and create about an emotion that each and every one of us needs in our lives.
But it doesn't necessarily always has to be warm and fuzzy. ;) We hope you'll feel inspired and join us in our June Emotional Challenge.

This is one of my favourite blogs for inspiration.
I always really enjoy all the artistic creations to be found here.

So here are a few close ups....

I have used some Blue Fern Studios chipboard that I embossed with Ranger embossing
powder in Copper, which I really loved how metallic it looks. I had fun getting all messy
with these gorgeous Prima papers!

Thanks for taking a peek....
I wish you all a great weekend!

Big hugs, Lisa xo

not forgotten

Hello there...hope everyone is enjoying the weekend ;) ....

I saw one of my scrappy friends Anna Rogalska was featured on a challenge blog called
Anna's Scrap and I loved the sketch so I thought I'd play along.

'not forgotten'

I'm so in love with Cold Country papers, I might have to get another set to play with. My next
challenge will be to use these papers with some different colors other than purples ;)

You can find the sketch and Anna's Scrap blog here....

I created this with a beautiful vintage photograph of my Grandfather, George Herbert
Westbrook, given to me by my cousin that I really treasure.

I used some Blue Fern Studios chipboard called 'Floral Frame' and a piece of 'Chickenwire Panel'.

Thanks for stopping by,
Hugs, Lisa x

you shine!

Good Morning....do you love sketches as much as I do?

I wanted to share the new June sketch challenge up on Blue Fern Studios blog today....
I got a chance to play with my new papers which are so pretty, just a gorgeous rainbow of colors....

I found these beach photos and loved the color combo and found that 'Susan's Dream' from the
new paper line called 'Ombre Dreams' matched perfectly. I loved the yellow, green and blue together.

Here is the beautiful sketch below and you can find more details about the challenge here....

I tilted the sketch by 90 degrees to fit my photos better. And remember, you
don't have to use the exact chipboard in the sketch, any BFS chipboard will do!

Here are a few close ups...

I used the 'Optimist Word Set' and 'Seaside Seashells' that I painted white and then misted
with yellow and blue.

Thanks so much for stopping by...
Hope you join in the fun!

Hugs, Lisa ox
